Dancing has always been a popular entertainment At frist,most popular danced privately in their homes,or feasts and parties.But,in the 18th and 19th centuries,as more people wanted to dance,large public halls called ballrooms were opened.An orchestra or small band played.Each one changed little by little over many years,but some of them are still danced today.
